San Bruno is located just 12 miles south of downtown San Francisco, making it a convenient place to stay. Located in the middle of California's Bay Area, the region is known for its numerous tech companies, which bring business travelers from throughout the world and the United States. People also visit the area for its natural beauty, as the city sits among the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Junipero Serra County Park is a great place to take a hike in the hills and enjoy the sun setting over the crests.
The city is adjacent to the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and it's connected to the rest of the region, via the BART and Caltrain public transportation systems. Many visitors stay in hotels situated along the main arteries, El Camino Real and Highway 101, which run through the city.
The Mediterranean climate provides comfort throughout the year. The highs in the winter are in the high 50s, and the highs in the summer are in the low 70s. Once a rural area with farms that supported the Spanish missions, the region has grown into a dense suburb. Modern dining and nightlife options abound, and the cuisine is diverse; ranging from Mexican and Asian to fresh California cuisine.
