The staff was unparalleled! Courteous and helpful in every way. Room was small but immaculate. Loved the “pillow menu”. Can’t beat the location and the complimentary coffee and cookies fueled us for a day of activities. Will definitely stay again!

The room was spacious and although looking over the cable car was quiet. Nice amenities in the bathroom and also candies in the room as well. The hotel has that old room vibe but I appreciated it. I was in/out for one night so didn't have the opportunity to experience other elements like the 2 for drinks at the bar but liked the free coffee in the morning

Room was small but clean... had some issues with some amenities in the room through out our stay but the maintenance staff should work on getting them all fixed after we left. The location was fantastic for us... easy to get to the BART, Trolley cars, etc. Was an easy walk to China Town and several other areas we wanted to see. Staff was nice if we engaged them but didn't really reach out to engage us.

It is a clean and confortable, historic hotel. Rooms are spacious and quiet even though the powell street cable car goes right by. It is an easy walk to union square, china town, and even the embarcadero. I have stayed in lots of places around union square and this is consistently one of my favorites.
