Saratoga Springs is located approximately 35 miles north of Albany, in upstate New York. The Children's Museum at Saratoga offers guests an art studio for little artists, and a stage for aspiring actors. The park offers numerous trails for hiking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter.
In-state travelers can reach Saratoga Springs by taking Interstate 87 to U.S. Route 9. I-87 runs north from New York City to the Canadian border. Stay at a hotel or bed-and-breakfast in downtown Saratoga Springs, if you want to be close to restaurants, shops and spas.
Enjoy hot drinks and food after you go ice skating, or cross-country skiing during Winterfest at the beginning of every February; when the average high temperature is 35 degrees. Listen to a variety of music while you wander through downtown Saratoga Springs during the Hats Off to Saratoga Festival, held annually in July, when the average high temperature is 83 degrees. This festival celebrates opening weekend at the Saratoga Race Course; the oldest racecourse in the United States. Horse races have been held at the Saratoga Race Course since the 1860s.
