Linthicum, Maryland, is an intimate, small town that lies between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The M&T Stadium, home to the Baltimore Ravens, is a ten minute ride away. The University of Maryland, Baltimore County is a nearby honors college. Six Flags amusement park is within an hour's drive to the south, while the Inner Harbor, Maryland Science Center and a host of museums, including the Walters Art Gallery; all are about 12 miles from the city center.

Artscape is one of the most populous festivals on the East Coast, and draws large crowds of vendors and visitors each summer. The Baltimore Grand Prix also shuts down city streets for an action packed weekend each fall. Well known for crab cakes, Baltimore exports more seafood than most other port cities in the United States. Street and heritage festivals feature local foods, music and cultural traditions which highlight the eclectic mixture of Linthicum's Caribbean, Slavic, Russian, Irish, Hispanic and Greek citizens.
