"The Henderson Resort Spa Destin Beach Florida. The good. The resort is beautiful, the entrance is villa style lined with palm trees and tropical plants. The grounds are well maintained. The rooms are spacious with a balcony. The resort itself I would not argue lives up to the expectation of luxury touted by Travel and Leisure and other publications. The pictures do represent the aesthetics.
The bad. We noticed the lack of attention to detail when we entered the room, which should have been a red flag. There was no do not disturb sign, resulting in mandatory turn down service. In the current environment, limiting the time and access to our safe space seemed reasonable. The option to decline would have sufficed. We asked the front desk for a do not disturb sign, they took our name and room number with no follow through. The next day we asked housekeeping and they had our sign in minutes as well as the iron our room lacked. This was after being awakened at 0730 to hammering as they worked on the room next door.
This time a face to face encounter with management took place. We told her about the work being done and noise in the room next door. She said she was on a call but took our name and number and would call us back. There was no follow through, we never received a call. Spent the night wondering if another rude awakening was in store. A spa resort is synonymous with rest and relaxation which was not achieved.
The ugly. We spent time at the beach. The beach does liv"
