"We had a lovely time, we received a room upgrade and a delicious welcome drink upon arrival. Check in was quick and easy, the resort was breathtaking when we arrived. The lobby is massive and impressive, we arrived at our room which was beautiful with a giant king sized bed and ocean view. The resort itself is stunning, the pools are huge with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The restaurants are all stunning, the food was great as we are vegetarian they tried to accommodate us as best as possible. I have to say this was one of the best buffets I have ever been to for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately the beach at the resort was unusable as there was a giant swath of seaweed washed in the day we arrived. You are able to use the beach at any of the other three Barcelo resorts, we ended up using the beach in front of the Grand which was beautiful and clear of seaweed and magical snorkeling. I will say there is not enough staff for the lobby bar during the evening, there is no drink service at the pool or beach, there is no lotion in the rooms. Staff tries their best to provide the best service they can however management should consider hiring adequate staff for the large resort. I would definitely recommend this resort."

"Overall everything is awesome. All servers are great, occasionally come across couple buffet food stations where staff looks like they are not super happy to be there. The beach is nice and clean. They also do a good job cleaning and painting everywhere! However, last couple nights the AC was not working well in the room, and the fan was barely working slow... They staff said that the fan speed is fine although it was slower than other rooms by far."

"Overall, it was a nice resort. Food was good, but not great. There was usually a good variety at the buffet, but that was hit and miss depending on the time. The ladies in the coffee shop were friendly, so we visited everyday. We didn't get to experience the beach as there were mounds of seaweed everyday. A few staff were pleasant but it seemed like others couldn't be bothered, not even a smile."

"It is way too big. If you go with a group, they might just move you to any of the 6 or so properties- and they don’t care that you’ll then need to walk 2 miles to your friends area. They didn’t give us our “a-la-cart” reservations so we had to eat the horrible buffet food all the time. We had 6 people -a friend and I each booked ourselves and 2-18 year old girls. Then we wanted to have her and I in one room and the girls in another- in their view that was absolutely NOT POSSIBLE- no idea why??? We all paid and they allow 4 per room??? What’s the problem??? If you swap wrist bands and they find out they’ll call you everyday and threaten you!"
