We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen. We were impressed with the breakfast buffet, Zarape (Mexican) and Bella (Italian) restaurants and appreciated the service level from all staff including drinks service at the pool. Our stay was enhanced with a spa package and the evening entertainment! Don’t miss the fire show! Our one criticism is that we had booked a king bed room however because the available room had broken A/C, we were changed to a room with two double beds which wasn’t ideal - otherwise we would have had to pay extra for a room upgrade! My thought was that if something was not functional, it would be on the establishment to cover an upgraded room.

Smaller resort and they work with they have which reduces options on the resort but did fine with their options. Staff was friendly and main reason I didnt give a one star and access to shopping area. I didnt like the very limited bar areas and early closure of pool bar. But mainly theyre room doors are extremely loud. My wife and I would hear doors closing all night long every night and echos all through the hallway.

The best thing about this resort is undoubtedly the staff and the chefs. With our diet restrictions (vegetarian), each and every staff member and chef we came across were amazing. Shout out to Alejandro Arcaza, the sous chef, who visited our table quite often to confirm we had everything we needed and had some excellent desserts made for us. Chefs - Louis (breakfast butfet), Carlos (lunch buffet) and Antonio (at Bella) made amazing food. The manager, Glendi, was super helpful and Gabriel (server) was really friendly. The cafe is nice but I wish they had some eggless desserts. I loved the market out front to do some shopping. When we got to the resort, we were not happy with our rooms. We got junior suite with king bed. While the room was quite spacious, it was really noisy and the view from balcony was with some machinery. There was no way you would want to sit there with that view and the noise. The pictures were deceiving when booked online for the junior suite. We spoke to front desk and were shown another room that was half the size of first one and small washroom (but less noise) so no point of junior suite. We turned the room down and requested one when it became available. Thankfully after 2 days we moved into a room with very less to no noise comparatively and a good balcony. Another thing we found out at the resort is that there was $10 USD delivery charges for room service. Also there was no beach close the swimming pool. Overall we enjoyed the stay!

Great location. Walkable to nice beaches, shopping, etc. Great service at hotel. Very clean! Great drinks! Our room was quite loud, but we were Oceanview and pool view! It was beautiful, but the noise in the pool area started about 8 am and didn't end until after 11 on most nights. The room entry doors do not block echoing voices in the hallway! As other guests came in and out all night, I would awaken. However, I am used to sleeping in a quiet single family home!! Apartment dwellers would likely be fine! Of course, did I mention the view? It was worth the noise!! Pool and other activities were fun! Plan ahead by using their app. Also note that there is one main dining choice at breakfast and lunch - the buffet. It was quite good and our favorite restaurant here, but I didn't realize that when we booked! Nighttime dining choices reservations are best! We used the travel desk at the hotel and they were wonderful! Prices were consistent with other options. The bellmen keep watch on you and that is a nice feature as they check you in and out when you leave with drivers. It was a safe area to walk day and night to the 5th Avenue area full of shops and restaurants. Expect American prices for meals and drinks in that area. Go a few blocks outside of the area for smaller shops and restaurants! Book a fishing trip! Enjoy the coast from boat the see the gorgeous coastline resorts! Tour the Mayan ruins, visit Talum, swim in a Cenote, ride the ATV! Enjoy the area! Fun travels!!

Service was great! Rodrigo at the front desk, Ramon and Juan at the front and restaurant were also great! The mexican and italian restaurants were great! The steakhouse needs to work on the cook of their meats. I received a few siety rowels and wash cloths as replacements on 1 day. More shows and activities would help make those rainy days much better.

There was not much beach access and the food was not that good. Bella and room service were the best options on the property. Close to 5th Ave shopping was a plus! The staff were amazing! The coffee cafe was perfect!

My boyfriend and I had a great time at this property for my birthday trip. The staff even surprised me with a small cake when I returned from my excursion! I loved all the food and felt so welcomed we’d definitely recommend the Wyndam Alltra to our friends and family.
