I am a repeared guest for many years. I can say with confidence that the resort is wery well kept, plenty of soace to swim, eat, walk, etc. Staff is very friendly and helpful. BUT, its a huge BUT here the food. I am not sure what us tge reason but the food degradation is so obvious compared to couple of years ago. We usually had breakfast, lunch and dinner at main buffet at Caribe. Food was always cold, the badics were slways out and I am not talking about meat variaty or seafood, I am talking about cucumbers, or french fries that kids usually look for. We never book restaurant because we love variety, but this year was the first one from our 15 years at Barcelo when we booked restaurants because the food at the buffet was literally disgusting. Other than that it is a beautiful place to stay at.

This was my fifth stay at Barcelo. The grounds are always immaculate and beautiful. I don't know why, but I was eaten alive by mosquitoes this time...I never had an issue in the past. The food was good, although we were underwhelmed by Le Fuente. Most employees were friendly, with stand-outs being Yadira, Ana, and Jazmin in the Colonial pool area, and Daniel in the Caribe buffet...Daniel always made us feel at home and welcome.

The internet was fast! The room was clean but outdated looking.. it wasn’t like wowww it was more like ok this’ll do. The air conditioning worked great. You just have to make sure the door to the patio is closed or it won’t work
