Compare Cheap Hotels Near Puerto Cancun Marina Town Center Quintana Roo

My wife and I booked a stay for 7 days at Riu Peninsula which started on 10/06/2020 for our Anniversary trip. We got news of the storm Delta coming that morning when we boarded our plane. Once reaching the Riu they was in the process of evacuating the property due to the storm which was expected to hit as category honestly we were kind of upset at first thinking our Anniversary trip was ruined. Our Anniversary is 10/06. They took us to a property they have in playa del carmen that been closed since the pandemic started. The property wasn't in the best shape being it haven't been being used but we had or own rooms. While being there I learned it was a mandatory evacuation so they had no choice but to bring us there. Only other choice was bringing us to an refugee dormitory where hundreds of tourists was sleeping on maps. That's when reality hit and my wife and I became thankful we wasn't put in that situation. The Riu crew did a wonderful job trying their best to keep all of their guests happy and comfortable as possible with the situation we were in. I really appreciate their hard work. We was brought back to our regular hotels 2 days later on the 8th when the storm passed(which actually hit as a cat 2) Thank God. Now lets talk about this beautiful hotel Riu Peninsula. I read a few bad reviews on here saying employees are rude, food suck, room suck etc. I don't know how anyone can write a bad review on this place. In fact it's all the opposite.

The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and also great customer service. The property looks well kept and the room- ( junior suite) was more spacious and better than expected. Marina Chac Chi is directly behind the hotel if you plan to do a boating excursion and Playa Tortugas is a 5 minute drive if you plan to parasail or do other water sports. I’d stay again!

I loved the place and I have to go back soon. Everything is on point and their entertainment is great.
