Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) is only two miles east of Phoenix' downtown area, easily reachable on the I-10 or by bus or SkyTrain. To Cancun (CUN), typical flight times are around four hours. The airport is about 10 miles from Cancun itself and taxis are waiting just outside the terminal building to take you there. There is, sadly, no reliable public transportation option.
One of the most popular resort towns in Mexico and the greater Caribbean, Cancun is famous for its white-sand beaches, deep-blue seas and laid-back attitude. Possibly the perfect place to sip drinks from pineapple through straws, visitors are can laze about all day in resorts like Xcaret PArk or Xel Ha Park. For a bit of green, visitors can take a trip to Isla Contoy, an unspoiled island just off the coast. A few rounds of golf are definitely options as well. The Moon Palace Golf Resort offers excellent facilities that let you look out over the Caribbean as you putt. The more adventurous visitor can take a day trip down to Chichen Itza and see the Mayan temples there in all their glory.
Cancun's weather is excellent year-round, making it a good choice during any season; visitors need only bring their swimming gear. Hotels and resorts are found all along the coast, there's something for every budget.
