It’s easy to get to the Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) Airport using Interstate 45 and the North Beltway 8 or US 59 and the North Beltway 8. Once you arrive, you can easily navigate around using the Intra-Terminal above ground train that helps you get to the various terminals throughout the property. After your two-hour flight to Cancun International Airport (CUN), it will take you approximately 25 minutes to reach the city.
The Cancun Airport is one of the busiest in the Caribbean. Once there, hop on a local bus, a hotel shuttle, or a taxi to get to your chosen destination. After you’re settled, head out to some of the main attractions in the area including the Chichen Itza, a large Mayan archeological site, and the Isla Mujeres, a small island that is secluded from some of the other busier beaches.
The Playa Tortugas offers warm water and clean sand, and plan on dancing the night away at Coco Bongo, one of Cancun’s most popular nightclubs.
Be sure to get the most out of the tropical climate by packing shorts for your excursion. While the area is warm year-round, there are rainy times throughout September and October. The area tourists most frequent is near the world’s second largest coral reef, Cozumel.
