If you're looking for the entertaining resort experience, Orlando, FL, and its sister city Kissimmee has the answer. At 110 square miles, the huge city is home to some of the most famous entertainment centers in the world. The most popular is the Disney World Resort and Magic Kingdom, in Lake Buena Vista south of Orlando.

Another common destination is Universal Studios Orlando in southwest Orlando, famous for its decades-long appearances on Nickelodeon television. For a seaside experience, Cocoa Beach near Cape Canaveral is about an hour's drive east, and serves as a hub for sunbathers and surfers alike; you may even see a rocket blast into orbit from the Kennedy Space Center.

Hints and tips

Orlando enjoys the sunny disposition typical of Central Florida. The sun can be particularly strong, so bring sunscreen if you need it. If you don't plan to stay at one of the major resorts, the hotels in the downtown area are popular with travelers.
