Orlando is associated with some of the biggest theme parks in the country, including Walt Disney World, but most of these parks lie just outside the city, which makes a rental car the perfect way to get around Orlando.
Aside from theme parks, Orlando has plenty to offer tourists as well as business guests, such as the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art featuring Tiffany art glass, and parks like the Arboretum at the University of Central Florida.
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is Florida's primary airport, but once you pick up your rental car, you can get on Orlando's main highway I-4 and head into the city. You’ll find many attractions are nearby, including Sea World, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Discovery Cove, all of which can be found off I-4.
You can also take in a basketball game with the NBA's Orlando Magic at the Amway Center. Golf courses abound in Orlando, so if you want to tee up, head to Grand Cypress or the Lake Orlando Golf Club for a round.
You can expect a direct flight, between Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Orlando to last just over an hour. If you factor in gate-to-gate time you’re looking at closer to an hour and a half.
