Named after an orange, the City of Valencia is located in the Santa Clarita Valley of southern California. It's home to Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park. Located 30 miles north of Los Angeles, Valencia is within one hour of Santa Monica and San Buenaventura Beaches, Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, and Hollywood.
Hotel accommodations for guests in Valencia are located along Magic Mountain Parkway just off of I-5. Westfield Valencia Town Center, a large plaza with an indoor and outdoor shopping mall, theater and several restaurants to choose from, is also located off of Magic Mountain Parkway. Santa Clarita Transit offers bus service to the Santa Clarita Valley area with connections to the Metrolink train system at Newhall Station, which provides service to Los Angeles and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
With predominantly two seasons, the semi-arid climate of Valencia produces hot, dry summers and mild winters. Temperatures range from the lower 50s to 70s in December through March, and the 70s to upper 90s in April through November. The Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival is held annually in April. Western enthusiasts will enjoy the music, food and live entertainment of the festival in celebration of the U.S.'s rich Old West heritage.
