Located adjacent to Boise International Airport on the facility's south side, Boise Air Term (Gowen Field) (BOI) is a National Guard facility. Because the field is not a commercial establishment, you're likely to fly to your destination by departing from Boise International Airport. It's just under four miles from the Boise city center and accessible via Interstate 84. Travelers find flights usually last for just over an hour. Once you get to Seattle/tacoma International (SEA), take the Light Link rail service, King County Metro transit routes or Sound Transit bus routes 560 or 574.
Head to the Seattle Bay Waterfront and check out the Pike Place Market. It has operated for more than a century. Alternatively, get your fill of pop culture at the Experience Music Project Museum, set up by a co-founder of Microsoft. Don't forget the Space Needle, a famous observatory not just in Seattle but also in the Pacific Northwest Region as a whole.
The South Lake Union neighborhood is a popular hotel district on the outskirts of downtown. The Pike/Pine Corridor also has many accommodations from which to choose, as does the area that includes the Seattle Center and Space Needle attractions. The summer months make up the high season in Seattle, but September and October are very pleasant months in terms of weather and fewer crowds. Because Seattle is very rainy, be sure to pack your rain gear.
