Exploring Seattle is sure to provide you with plenty of new things to see and do. You will find getting around the city is much easier with your own set of wheels. The best place to pick up a rental car is at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The city of Seattle is home to many coffee company headquarters like Starbucks and Seattle's Best, so grab a cappuccino for the drive downtown.
Once in the downtown area, you can ride the elevator to the observation deck of the Space Needle, to get a feel for the layout of the city from over 500 feet up. If the weather is nice, you can visit one of the outdoor attractions such as the Woodland Park Zoo, or the Olympic Sculpture Park.
Opened in 2007, the park features a selection of exciting sculptures and its own beach. If you have an interest in airplanes, Museum Flight is just a short drive from the downtown area. When the Seattle Mariners are in town, you can catch an exciting game at the Safeco Field, with its retractable roof to keep out the rain.
It will take a little over four hours to fly from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to Seattle.
