Cape Canaveral is the city a few miles south of the Kennedy Space Center where many US spacecrafts were launched. Any visit to this place would be historic, and would need only an accommodation at one of the Cape Canaveral hotels. Early reservations can entitle one to as much as 75% off on rooms if one is resourceful. Hotels in Cape Canaveral range from four-star to a budget inn depending on one's budget.
Since this is a high-security NASA lunching site there are no major convention facilities in this area. The closest convention center, the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, is at least 50 miles away. But most hotels have conference facilities good for small and medium groups. Raddison Resort's state-of-the-art facilities are worth trying.
Expectedly, more popular restaurants here would offer seafood fare, although there are some ethnic eateries and family restaurants. Steak is a specialty. Suggested restaurants include Seafood Atlantic, Kelsey's Pizza and Rubio's Cuban Cafe.
When in Cape Canaveral, visitors must not miss the Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach, the Lighthouse, the Astronauts Memorial, the Butterfly World, and the Planetarium and Observatory.
Shopping will always be a joy at the Flea Market, the NASA Store or the Cocoa Beach Merritt Square.
Expect Floridians to be sports-minded as they indulge in golf, hockey, baseball and football. Guests should enjoy a round at Live Oak Golf Course or Naples Golf Club.
