If you’re flying out of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and heading to Panama City, you’ll arrive at the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP). The ECP is the primary airport that serves the Panama City Beach area and South Walton Beach. A non-stop flight from Atlanta to Panama City is about one hour and ten minutes. The Panama City beaches comprise of 27 miles, and there are close to 100 beach access points. Some of the most popular beaches are Shell Island, St. Andrews State Park, Camp Helen State Park and Schooner.
Panama City is home to a variety of fascinating attractions for all ages. Shipwreck Island Water Park, Miracle Strip Amusement Park and Gulf World Marine Park are among the popular outdoor parks in the area. At the Gulf World Marine Park, you can watch dolphin shows and explore other exotic underwater animals. If you enjoy shopping, Pier Park houses more than 100 stores, restaurants, movie theaters and other entertainment venues. Highway 98 and Highway 79 are both direct routes to the beaches.
The ECP airport is 30 miles from Panama City and 20 miles from many local beaches. Panama City has fairly warm weather throughout the year. The beaches are busiest during the summer months.
