The property was pretty great, but there were so many serious problems. The management company seemed to try hard to fix them, but some could have been avoided altogether, and the main one (with the AC / electrical) was never resolved, and had a major impact on our vacation—almost ruining it, except for the fact that we are intrepid travelers and refused to let ourselves be totally destroyed by the terrible circumstances of our rental! The issues: 1. The property is cooled by separate AC units in each room. Sometimes they worked a little—one bedroom worked just fine the whole time—often they would malfunction in the middle of the night and you’d wake up in a sweaty mess with your AC unit blinking erratically, then you’d have to hike downstairs to cut the power at the electrical panel to reset everything (which stopped the ones that WERE working, so you had to wake people up to have them restart theirs as well.) One whole floor of rooms had AC units that didn’t pump cool air after the first day or two. The host sent over fans for us all—which at least allowed us to get a few hours sleep each night. But we were constantly stressed and exhausted for lack of sleep during our stay. 2. The pool and pool area came with no instructions; it seemed like they didn’t really want you using it. The outdoor shower was broken and unfixable—but we at least were told how to operate the pool. 3. Cockroaches. Just a few, though daily. But they were the least of our problems, honestly.
