The staff where very friendly and helpful and a great atmosphere in the bar area you can see they are trying to upgrade the and modernise the rooms But still a lot of things to be done carpet shampooed new windows shower upgrade just general stuff that would be any where else but clean and fresh towels No noise after 11pm and no unsavoury clients in the bar It’s okay for a overnight the town is lovely and the hotel is convenient where it is

The staff was excellent, shower didn’t drain well, beds were comfortable, there was no noise from the bar downstairs that we heard even though it was a Saturday night. Room was a little chilly when we went in. Would love to go back next year to see changes

Castle gate had a great location close to railway station and bus stop ,from bus stop you could get to Keswick and Windermere.

Great handy hotel

Very handy hotel to the train and rail stations. The hotel is under new ownership and its owner is very friendly and helpful. We had a great nights sleep and fully refreshed in the morning.

Given that they were in the middle of renervations the pub was not open only the room was available but nice and clean once renervations complete will be an ideal place to stay

I did not stay because the hotel and website hotels.com both Denise my payment despite money taken from my account and now my bank disputed this . I will never recommend you to anyone You waste my money and time nearly one hour over the phone
