Musky smell and filthy
The second we opened the door we were greeted with a horrific wall of smell that took our breath away. Best description would be a musky urine smell. At first o thought it was a cat smell but later determined it not to be because I’m allergic to cats and this was not the case. We immediately opened the windows and called the property manager. She promptly came over to inspect the property. She said there was no smell but did agree the house was filthy. We agreed to disagree and decided we would clean the property and were reimbursed the pet and cleaning fee. The smell never dissipated and was worse on the humid and rainy days. The smell seemed to come from the couch and we never used the living area. There was no where else to go to rent so we tried to make the best of it by sitting outside and never being inside except to sleep. In the mornings we were congested and had runny and stuffy noses. The air quality was horrible. We began to investigate and found we were not the only ones who complained about the stench and uncleaned property. Why has VRBO not posted those reviews? Is it because it runs through a property management real estate agency?The place has a lot of potential but it is cluttered, needs repairs and a very deep cleaning. I would not recommend staying here.
