I travel a fair bit and am not usually that picky, but this was by far the worst stay I've had. EVER.
First, their system was down so they refused to check me in unless I paid cash, even though I'd already prepaid through Expedia and showed them my receipt and confirmation. They told me to cancel the reservation (which I had to contact Expedia support to do since it was past the cancellation period - and put in the request - which I did and was advised it would take up to 72 hours to process the cancellation) so I paid cash again assuming I would be reimbursed once the hotel would get access to the system again.
We got to our room and the floors were dirty. The bathroom door did not have a latch nor would it close. The walls were unfinished and the baseboards were disgusting in the washroom. We also did not have any towels, face clothes, soap or anything. The office had closed by the time we'd checked in and noticed these things so there was nothing we could do until the next day. I went into the office to request towels and they gave me 2 little hand towels to use as bath towels and told me that larger towels would not be available until the next day (after I would have checked out).
Once I left I received confirmation that the request to refund the money via Expedia had been denied by the hotel. I called 5-6 times requesting a refund and to speak to the manager but was never given a call back or received my refund. I paid double for the worst stay I've ever experienced.
The window did not close. There was no lock on the inside of the door.
The first room we were assigned was not cleaned (coffee cups, unmade bed). The second room was also dirty but “reset”. No cold water. Sticky end tables. All in all it felt very dirty and unsafe.
