      We enjoyed our stay

Other reviews had lowered our expectations for this property, but if ignored a few things, the house was what our family of six was looking for, and we enjoyed our time. We enjoyed day trips to Antietam battlefield, Harpers Ferry, and Winchester. We like to cook outside and used the grill twice and the fire pit twice. The outdoor griddle was rusty, so we made our pancakes inside. The walk to the river was not very sightly, but the house and grounds themselves were cheery and comfortable. Thank you.

Dirty and Dilapidated Home - Disrespectful owner

The property owner/manager hasn't been to the house in a long time. Three foot high grass, leaves covering pourches and doorways, dead bugs in window sill, broken blinds, filth under couch cushions, broken furniture on deck and the list goes on. I wish I could post pictures. on top of that the owner/manager never answered a single email to even acknowledge these facts. I asked nicely in multiple emails for the cleaning fee to be returned to me for the inconvenience and no reply to that either. We left the house cleaner than it was when we arrived. This is a very sad situation because we stayed here 7 years and had a wonderful time. Don't stay here!

        5/5 Excellent

          Very good experience!

We stayed here for my brothers bachelor party. Very quiet and no complaints. Will come back again!

It was an average stay with some things missing

We were very frustrated that there was no hand soap in any bathrooms - I did message the owner about this and was not responded to about this matter. We looked for extra in the cabinets and all I could find were empty old soap pumps. There were no extra toiletries (toothpaste etc). There were clothes in the washing machine - so we could not use the washing machine as had been advertised in the listing. In addition - some of the towels we were given had dried leaves all over them in the bathroom - and we were not given any extras - there also were not enough towels for the 6 people staying at our house although we had actually reserved the place for 9 people but 3 bailed out last minute. The house is nice but these owners have to ensure that the basics (hand soap, clean towels, enough towels) are provided for. If we have to buy all of these things for our own stay we might as well just stay in a hotel because that would be cheaper. I am giving the place 3 stars because it looked as advertised and we did not have any other serious issues.

            5/5 Excellent

              Great for a weekend away!

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The house was very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for us to hang out. The deck was a great place to relax, and the view was beautiful. Very nice, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!
