Review: Disappointing Stay Despite Great Location and Friendly Staff The location of this villa was excellent — close to everything we wanted to see and do, and the staff were consistently kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The villa itself was extremely outdated, which we expected, but the level of cleanliness and upkeep was far below acceptable standards for the price point. The carpets and furniture were heavily stained and looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in years. The bathrooms had no ventilation, resulting in a constant musty, damp smell, and there was visible paint chipping below the tub from what appeared to be long-term water damage. The spare room’s air conditioning barely functioned, and the hot water heater was so small that our family of five ran out of hot water continuously. The sliding glass and screen doors on the balcony were difficult to open and close, and overall, the villa just didn’t feel clean or well maintained. For the amount charged per night, the condition of the unit was extremely disappointing and not reflective of the quality we expected. The shared Outrigger pools were a huge plus and helped salvage our trip, but note that access does not include the Outrigger gym. It’s also worth mentioning that some of these villas are privately owned and may have been remodeled — so your experience could vary depending on which unit you get. When we checked in the air conditions in the bedrooms did not work and leaked water onto he floor. The next day we complained and the staff installed some portable window AC units. It was better but not pleasant in mid 80 degree weather. We stayed there for 6 days and they only gave us 2 days worth of drip coffee and wouldn't give us more. Very old and run down and they have not maintained these units really well. We will never stay here again.

This property is average, bordering on poor. We stayed for six nights and found they refuse to change bed linens until you’re there a week (we have a 9yr, 2.5yr and a 6-month), which is kinda gross considering the amount of sand everywhere. They also refuse to trade in your towels until the 4th day, which is preposterous. We have three kids and paid a lot of money to watch them play on the beach; we didn’t go all that way to babysit the washer/dryer for towels. The entire unit gave me major ick factor. That said, Outrigger next door was a dream and they allow Villa guests to use their FAR SUPERIOR amenities. All in all…… I would pay more money for somewhere cleaner that doesn’t hold towels hostage.

The best parts: the friendly and helpful staff, access to the Outrigger swimming pools and beach, and the nice size, layout, and balcony in our unit. The not-so-good: the unit really needs remodeled--everything functioned and was clean but was old and worn. For the price, though, we were very happy!

I think we got an older unit because our air conditioner didn’t work. It was hot and humid in the room. Thankfully the fans worked, but it still was hot. The cleanliness of the rooms weren’t the greatest. The show curtains had nasty stains, couches, and the floors. our shower went out of service and only did cold water so we had to call maintenance twice. After the second time we had no problems. Maintenance did respond quickly. We couldn’t swap out dirty towels for new ones we had to wash them ourselves. We were there for a week. you don’t necessarily want to do laundry on vacation. Overall definitely would find a different place to stay next time.

Very nice property, we loved having a full kitchen and it was well stocked with all essential dishes. Property was clean, bed was comfortable. There is a shed with beach equipment so we were able to have a couple of chairs to sit out in. The only downside, and this is not the fault of the property, but at peak traffic times it is very difficult to turn left (towards Lihue) out of the driveway.
