This is a very nice property, a pretty good distance from anything. We were looking for a vacation rental in Durango, and this property came up with a good price and nice amenities. The listing caught our eyes, "Relaxing, romantic, cozy place has WIFI & overlooks peaceful Song Spring Lake." We verified later in the listing, under amenites, "Internet WIFI 24/7 with ID and Password posted on the whiteboard in the kitchen and in the welcome book." And later, "Wireless Internet MajesticMooseRetreat." We figured that since it was so far out, the WIFI would make it OK. We emailed asking for confirmation of WIFI after cancellation deadline and before check in, and the host did not respond to the question. When we arrived, there was nothing posted about WIFI and we asked about it again. We were told a long story about possible internet service sometime in the future and told to park next to the library in Bayfield, six miles away, where we could access the library's internet network. The hosts refused/declined to provide the password to the network "MajesticMooseRetreat" which clearly showed up on all our devices. We have a real problem with dishonesty. The hosts advertised WIFI as a selling point to the vacation rental and refused to provide it. We would not have booked this rental without the promise of WIFI. As for the facility, it was very nice and was well appointed. The hosts were personable and easy to get along with. If you are looking for a secluded place to relax, with no cell phone service and no WIFI, this is the place for you. Just be aware that the location adds 30 minutes each way to the drive to/from Durango or Pagosa Springs.
