Beautiful large complex picked it because it had a restaurant on site but when we arrived the restaurant was just a small bar area with no staff in sight

The staff were so friendly at check in and super professional. They had someone complaining about them not serving liquor and they handled it with grace and kindness. The room had tons of space and the pool was really big!

Have stayed here 4 times now, and it is an excellent choice while visiting the U of Illinois. Not near the campus but an easy10 min drive. Very clean and quiet. Nice Hot Breakfast. At times a great value as well.

The only issues I had were that there was only one trashcan and it was in the bathroom. So if someone was in the bathroom, I had to wait for that person to come out. The other issue is that the beds did not have blankets. Just one small comforter blanket and the rest were bedsheets. Doesn’t help when the comforter is tiny and can’t be shared between 2 people on the bed.

Unbelievable from beginning to end!

We arrive for check-in, our room was reserved months in advance yet they needed credit card info again and we had to put down a $100 security deposit which we've never had to do at any other hotel. We go to the room, inspect it, felt it was passable. Go get our bags and come back to the room only for our key card to no longer work on that door. Go back to the front desk, come to find out we went to the wrong room... but why did it open the first time for us? So then we go to the right room and its not what we reserved. Supposed to be 1 King bed and kitchenette, but it had 2 Queens and no kitchenette. So we go back to the front desk and have them give us the correct room that ended up being on the opposite side of the complex. The room was dusty, stove top burners were unusable (damaged), linen/towels had stains and looked used, bathroom was dirty, used bars of soap still in shower. Went back to the front desk to inform them, they said housekeeping would be over right away. We left for 2 hours and came back, housekeeping had still not been there. We clean the room ourselves then go back to front desk in the morning for fresh linen again since we didn't receive any on day 1 and they finally have someone bring us fresh linen. What's even worse is this cost us about $200 a night plus $100 deposit that haven't received back yet. Could've gotten better service for much cheaper at a Motel. Would NEVER stay at an Eastlakes hotel again

The staff were friendly and courteous, but the hotel has serious cleanliness issues. My room had two beds, and one appeared to have been used. There was hair and dark lint on the sheets, and it seemed merely remade rather than freshly prepared. Garbage from a previous occupant had been left in the room, and there were long hairs scattered throughout, especially in the bathroom, which made it feel unclean and poorly maintained. The towels were threadbare and stained, and the bed linens and pillows were noticeably worn. My friend was assigned a room that had clearly been used and not cleaned at all, with the beds left unmade. In addition, the hotel charged a 3% credit card fee on top of the Expedia rate. The hotel is in urgent need of renovation and a much stronger commitment to cleanliness and quality control.

My wife and I booked a room here for one night to attend a local sporting event. Long story short, we were in our room long enough to book a room somewhere else. Upon arrival, check-in went smoothly though I was surprised to be told that a 3% surcharge would be applied for using a credit card. This was not disclosed when I made my reservation and honestly, I'm not sure how many people arrive and pay for their hotel room in cash. But, whatever, it was late and I was tired. The area around the hotel doesn't inspire confidence in terms of security. For example, there were a couple of guys riding bicycles around on property in the dark wearing skull face masks. I made sure I parked where I could keep an eye on my car and headed inside. The room was quite dated but admittedly the room rate was quite reasonable so I didn't expect luxury here. That said, regardless of the rate, I do expect a clean room. Ultimately, what turned us away was the large stain in the middle of the bed sheet right on top in plain view ... it's not like someone missed this while cleaning. And, numerous hairs all over several of the bed pillows. Clearly, there was a housekeeping issue here. I briefly considered asking to change rooms but at the end of the day, why would I expect another room to be cleaner? So, I found a (more expensive, unfortunately) place nearby and made a reservation.

By far the worst hotel I’ve ever booked. The room smelled like smoke and dirty animals. We didn’t even stay we ended up leaving. Bars on the windows, dark hallways, overall sketchy. Dirty bathroom- 0/10 recommend. Front desk person smelled so awful that should have been my sign…

Room was old and needed renovated Mold on ceilings in bathroom, Wood was rotten behind door next to tub, see below tile, felt like floor going to cave in while in shower. Not 1 ice machine worked. Breakfast was COLD! Check in was a nightmare, they added a 3% fee for using a credit card after the Hotel.com rate. They made copies of my Driver's License for their records. I have never had this at any of the 1000 hotel stays I've stayed in previous years. They said this was a local police dept requirement. In was a sketchy area, had slots in bar and common area, people coming and going from street to play. On you own you for security, parking and walking around?? Just a basic below standard hotel for an elevated rate for the weekend football game!

The staff wasn’t bad, but there rooms were very dirty. Hair everywhere, bugs on the windows (I know you can’t completely control that but you don’t like seeing stink bugs all over the curtains). The furniture was beat up, we asked for new sheets because of the hair and while we were gone they just put them in our room. When we got back we saw the sheets and went to put them on and saw more stains under the sheets and more hair! We left shortly after that and are waiting for a refund from Expedia because since we booked with Expedia the staff said they couldn’t refund our money.

Parking was great... right next to room (we were downstairs). Tried breakfast first day but not really what we like... ok if you like scrambled eggs and toast. Staff were so responsive. Couldnt get TV to work (baseball playoffs) and they came right over to fix. Good time there.

Read the reviews and was genuinely concerned but was pleasantly surprised by the service and cleanliness of the room. Check-in was fast even with three check-ins in front on me. Rooms were clean and simple. Pool was great.
