When you arrive at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) from Phoenix, you may feel like you've landed in another world. While Phoenix is located in a desert, Seattle boasts a lush, verdant landscape.
Seattle has developed over the years into one of the nation's high-tech and aviation centers, and art lovers have much to see in Seattle. The Emerald City is home to the Henry Art Gallery, Frye Art Museum and Seattle Art Museum. The city draws in both vacationers and business travelers. Those traveling with children will enjoy the Woodland Park Museum and the Seattle Giant Wheel.
The Seattle-Tacoma Airport is conveniently located to the south of Seattle, and to the north of Tacoma. The heart of Seattle is easily accessed from the airport via Interstate 5, which is the major north and south route through the city. Both Highway 520 and Interstate 90 provide east and west access. While some of the more remote areas around Seattle, such as Bainbridge Island, are best accessed by ferry.
Flying between Sky Harbor International (PHX) in Phoenix and Seattle-Tacoma will take you about three hours on a non-stop flight. Travelers who are picking up their rental car at SEA can hop on a shuttle to access the Rental Car Facility, from where you can quickly start your vacation.
