Cheap flights from Memphis (MEM) to New York (NYC)

Memphis International (MEM) is located 11 miles southeast of Memphis, Tennessee using I-240 S or I-55. There are six flights per week to New York La Guardia (LGA). Flight times are usually two-and-a-half hours. Downtown New York is 10 miles away from La Guardia airport using Grand Central Pkwy and I-495 W. There is usually heavy traffic on these roads. Taxis, city buses, airport shuttles and rental cars are available at the airport.

Attractions and tips

There is a great deal to see and do in New York City; Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, just to name a few of the most famous attractions. The city is known for its world-renowned entertainment such as Broadway musicals, classical performances at Carnegie Hall or the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. The city is also considered the fashion capital of the United States. There are numerous shopping centers, designer stores and little boutiques.

All four seasons can be felt distinctly in New York. The winters are cold and often get several feet of snow. The summers are hot and humid. The fall and spring have the nicest weather. The cost of accommodation is generally higher in New York City than other American city, especially in Manhattan. Many visitors familiar with the city opt to spend the night in nearby New Jersey where rates are far cheaper.
