It’s ok for the price. There’s one restaurant within walking distance and it closed 30 minutes before it said it closed. The check in staff was arguing with another customer when we walked in. The rooms were cleanish but old. There was noise all night the first night with people yelling and slamming doors. We were next to the elevator so heard the motor all night. Our “pool view” room was actually a view of the parking lot. Bummer. Free parking was nice but it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere. Would not stay again.

NIghtmare. the3y said they did not have my reservation for the 3 rooms. They went ahead and booked us in without telling us they charged the max rate and not as my hotels .com reservation. The front desk people are not capable. I checked my american express account and there is hundreds of dollars in excess being charged by the La quinta hotel.

This hotel is perfect for New Years Eve and I bet 4th of July too. The patio area on 2nd floor gives perfect views of the fireworks. And, this location is only a 1 min walk to the riverfront. Location is perfect. The hotel though could benefit from updating. The outdoor areas feel dirty. The carpets desperately need to be replaced in rooms, and the rooms themselves feel they’ve been worn down and used by guests for 50 years. The morning staff wasn’t outwardly friendly in lobby, but they may have had a hard day. The lobby door at 6pm was locked, so you had to knock to get in to check in, which makes you instantly feel the hotel is not the safest (if they feel they have to lock themselves in), but the night staff was friendly. Parking was convenient at the hotel but is a separate $20 charge per day, so be prepared. It’s worth it though considering location of hotel is great. So, choosing this hotel, know it’s not “nice” or comfortable per se, but you choose it because the location is perfect and it’s affordable. The breakfast was nice too!
