When I make my reservation online, I always request a first floor room because it’s just easier for me. I can’t really climb stairs and elevators are a pain. I travel for work so I have so much that I have to bring into the room. I never leave anything in my vehicle, especially valuable equipment. Anyway, my request was not honored by whoever accepted my reservation and prepared it. When I asked, the clerk said that there wasn’t one available which I later found out to not be true. I was given a room on the and the card key didn’t work. When I went back down, the clerk had a change of heart for some reason and gave me a first floor room. Kudos to her for doing the right thing. She was actually very nice, just dishonest at first. The room wasn’t worth the rate I paid but I made it work. I was just happy to be on the first floor. The a/c was stuck on low and only blowed cool air, not cold. I think it finally cooled down enough to sleep some around 4am. The room wasn’t very clean. There was black hair everywhere…toilet, sink, shower and even on the towels. I had several on me after drying off. One of the towels was stained and so were the sheets. The mattress was a very old spring style and not at all comfortable. Also, no breakfast. Look, if you’re gonna charge what you do then you need to do better. Honor the customer requests. If sheets and towels are stained, purchase new ones. Hire a cleaning crew who actually clean. Fix the a/c. Provide a better mattress. Serve breakfast.
