Bayamon is a city located in the northeastern valley of Puerto Rico. Also known as “El Pueblo del Chicharron,” which translates to “Fried Pig Skin City,” it is well known for its deep-fried pork rinds. A popular destination is the Luis A. Ferre Science Park, which is comprised of museums, a zoo, several playgrounds and an observation deck. It is also the only place outside of the United States exhibiting NASA's rockets and rocket parts. The renowned Francisco Oller Art and History Museum is situated at the former Bayamon City Hall and contains memorabilia of the city's history, sports and arts.

Transport in Bayamon consists mainly of the Tren Urbano (Urban Train), a fully automated, fast transit train that serves the San Juan metropolitan area. The city is also served by Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU), located about 14 miles from the city center.
