Dayton International Airport (DAY) is located about 10 miles north of downtown Dayton. The RTA bus service heads into downtown Dayton regularly. For taxi service, head to the front of the terminal building.

Attractions and Tips

Busch Gardens is the place to be for thrill rides, shows and even a zoo. It’s easy to spend an entire day or two exploring the almost 300 acres of park space. The Big Cat Rescue transports you out of Tampa and into the exotic world of leopards, ocelots and even tropical birds.

If you want to see even more animals, head over to the Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center. There is no cost and you can easily spend an hour or two taking in these creatures as they lie along the boardwalk or in the warm waters.

If your visit falls between June and September, plan to see some rain. This rainy season is usually coupled with frequent thunderstorms. When winter comes along, temperatures drop but remain comfortable enough to participate in the plethora of outdoor activities.
