Sports enthusiasts will immediately recognize Vero Beach as the home of historic Dodgertown, but there is much more to Vero Beach than its rich baseball history. The Florida city attracts many travelers from all over because of its pristine Atlantic Coast beaches, the McKee Botanical Gardens and the Indian River Citrus Museum. The city is also home to Disney's Vero Beach Resort.
While downtown Vero Beach is an attractive place to stay, most visitors will want to seek out accommodations that overlook the Atlantic Ocean along the A1A highway. The Vero Beach Municipal Airport (VRB) is one option for travelers, but major airports are also located in Tampa, Miami and Orlando. While public transportation is available in Vero Beach, a rental car is likely the most convenient option. The city is very easy to maneuver around, and beach parking is fairly manageable even when the area is crowded.
The weather in Vero Beach is ideal throughout most of the year. Summer temperatures are warm, reaching up to 89 degrees Fahrenheit. These warm temperatures are usually accompanied by brief afternoon showers. The remaining months of the year are quite comfortable, with the fall, spring and winter typically seeing temperatures ranging from 70 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and rarely dropping below 50 degrees Fahrenheit year-round.
