Prescott is located just a little over 50 miles northwest of Arizona's geographical center, amidst the pines of the Bradshaw Mountains. The Phippen Museum offers a variety of fine art, exhibits and programs featuring the American West. Prescott National Forest is great for hiking and biking; providing guests with a host of scenic views including desert, forest and mountain terrains.
The downtown historic area has quaint shops, as well as many buildings listed with the United States National Register of Historic Places. Other popular destinations in Prescott include Granite Mountain Brewery, Whiskey Row, Watson Lake, Elks Opera House Theater and Heritage Park Zoo.
Visitors may arrive directly in Prescott at the Prescott Municipal Airport (PRC), but more flights are available to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX); which is about 90 minutes south of Prescott. Public transportation is offered by Prescott Transit Authority, with services including the airport shuttle and Prescott Citibus. Limousine and sedan services, and tour buses, are available for evenings out seven days a week. Prescott is within three hours driving distance of both the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas, Nevada. Guests can find many lodging options in the city, dotted along Montezuma Street.
The weather in Prescott tends to be sunny throughout the year. The winter months are mild with temperatures ranging from 50 to 65 degrees, and the summer months are warm with temperature in the upper 80s.
