Pros-
The staff made this stay a 11+. I have traveled quite a bit, and the hospitality is above what I have experienced in other hotels.
Dogs welcome, I have a lab, and it wasn’t an issue.
Proximity to everything is a 10+.
The grand room is very cozy, and beautiful with good energy.
Cons-
As another traveler noted, This is an old hotel, and while it is kept beautifully, the walls are thin. You can hear EVERYTHING. I had a hard time sleeping.
Updated cooling, but it was very loud. I would recommend getting your room super cold, then shutting it off around 9ish. Otherwise you’ll jump out of your bed every time the system starts up. (Imagine a jet.)
The toilet closet. I’m 5 9’ and had to sit sideways since my knees hit the wall. Crazy. ( people were smaller back in the day.)
Would I stay again, probably not, but I would drop by for the live music, or a bite to eat.
