"Stayed here for 5 nights, and overall it was a great experience. The resort has a very luxurious feel with high-class service and a classy crowd. The room size was great, though the AC was not the best. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely happy — world-class service all around. And yes, they do twice-a-day room service, which really sets the tone for how seriously they take the guest experience. ALL restaurants, and I mean it, were delicious, and they take allergies and gluten-free options extremely seriously, which was impressive and reassuring. Restaurants are everywhere on the property, and the drinks are amazing — bartenders will make anything you want with a smile. Very kid-friendly with tons of activities and a drop-off program for children between 5 and 8, which parents will love. A couple of warnings: the $500 resort credit is basically a scam — the taxes on items cost more than the credit is worth, so don't get excited about it. The gift shop is outrageously overpriced, and they don't show you the price until after you've already paid, so just avoid it completely. The resort app works great and makes navigating the property easy. Bottom line — it's expensive, but you feel every dollar in the luxury and service. Just skip the gift shop and don't fall for the credit gimmick."

"We've been to four different all inclusive resorts (Riu, Secrets, and now two through Excellence) and the Excellence Brand is by far our favorite. We stayed at the Beloved in March of this year and just got back from Excellence Riviera Cancun. Beloved was great for a short couples retreat while a five day stay with friends @ Riviera was perfect. We love that there is no sales pitch at the beginning of the stay at any Excellence. Riviera Cancun has amazing food. The breakfast buffet was the best buffet we've had, the lunch & dinner options were all also all so good. My husband loves Indian food and went back to Basmati twice for Indian food. The naan and butter chicken were his favorites but nothing was bad. The martini bar in the main lobby building had amazing drinks. We booked the Teppanyaki experience for dinner and even with a pickier eater with us, all 6 of us enjoyed it. The hotel offers many planned events and one we are so glad we did was the bike tour. A staff member leads the way about 2.5 miles off resort on a well paved service road to a downtown shopping area where you can get out and shop/take pictures for about 30 minutes and then head back. It was a nice 1.5 hour activity! The beach is very important to us. While we enjoyed the beach at Beloved (Playa Mujeres) more, this beach is still nice. Here you'll still get a few vendors popping in to ask if you want a massage or cigar but they didn't annoy us. Overall 10/10 and we plan to be back!"
