Grand Canyon Village is a historic community located in the state of Arizona, along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon National Park, which occupies a major portion of the southwestern United States, attracts almost five million visitors each year. Yavapai Observation Station is located within the village, and is considered one of the ideal locations for viewing the canyon and the Colorado River.
Grand Canyon Village contains several lodges, a bank, a general store, museums and even a kennel for your pets. Free shuttle bus service is offered for transportation within the village, as well as for trips to the town of Tusayan. The closest airport that is serviced by commercial planes is Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG). Airport shuttle services can take you directly to the village or to the historic Grand Canyon Railway for a train ride to the village. You’ll find accommodation in the form of lodges, along Village Loop Drive.
Seasonal weather conditions and elevation are factors that should be considered when planning your trip. The elevation of Grand Canyon Village is around 7,000 feet above sea level. While winter snow is possible from November through March, pleasant weather with high temperatures between the 50s and 80s can be expected for the remainder of the year.
