The property is in need of an upgrade, like most federal lodges. Old carpets and rooms have a distinct unpleasant smell. Staff, transport and convenience to views is the saving grace.
Location and views are amazing. Loved to have options for dining walking distance. This is a magical area to stay in. Hotel and room are OK, but the location and area is just amazing. Parking was difficult when checking in the afternoon.

Liked: Cleanliness
Basic lodging at the Grand Canyon Village. Rooms and the lodge itself are pretty old but well maintained. The canyon is steps away so it's very convenient for elderly and those with littles.
Only gripe is regarding the food - restaurants are dine in only. A single cafe offers take out. Sometimes it's not every convenient after a long day hiking with littles to do a sit down dinner. Especially when they're tuckered out.
Bus stop to tour the south rim is steps away as well. Overall, would stay again and recommend for families traveling.
