Portland International Airport is located south of the Columbia River in the vicinity of the limits of Portland. It is 12 miles to the north of the downtown of Portland by I-84 E. There are frequent flights to New York La Guardia (LGA) with a layover at different airports like Chicago, Denver and Minneapolis. Flights usually last for about seven hours. The distance from the LGA to the Manhattan is about 12 miles taking approximately 26 minutes using the I-278 W or I-495 W.
