Jessie James Decker was born as Jessica Rose James on April 12, 1988. Her father was stationed at the U.S. Air Force base in Vicenza, Italy at the time of her birth, which is where she spent her early years living. Being a part of a military family, James was bounced around the world living in dozens of locations. From an early age she knew that she wanted to be a musician, starting to sing at two and performing in talent shows at the age of nine. By the time that she was fifteen she was traveling down to Nashville to take lessons on songwriting every week.

When she was seventeen James began collaborating with Big Yellow Dog Music, who helped teach her everything that she would need to know to become successful in the industry. Eventually after several auditions for several different recording labels she was able to sign a contract under Mercury Records. Despite her country roots, the label required James to produce a pop album requesting her to be the likes of Britney Spears. Her first album entitled Jessie James was released in August of 2009, reaching a high of number twenty-three on the Billboard 200 chart. Upon the release there were a lot of mixed reactions based around the fact it was being marketed as a mix of country and pop, when in all reality it was far from even being considered country. In 2010 she began to work on her second album Sweet American Dreams, which was intended to have the same pop-country blend. After the release of the first single “Boy’s in Summer” failed to make any charts, James told her recording label that she wanted to make the switch to be fully a country singer. After some negotiations they let her make that transition, with the rest of the songs on the album having a country influence. The release of the single “Comin’ Home” in 2014 was her first number one hit and was the song that launched her to fame. Since then James has released several albums and singles in the country music scene.

Personal Life

In June of 2013, James married long-time boyfriend Eric Decker who formerly played in the NFL as a wide receiver. Later that year the couple welcomed their first child together, Vivianne. The small family then landed a reality show on E! which aired for two seasons. In 2015 they announced the birth of their second child Eric, and in 2018 their third child Forrest.

With a new EP released in 2021, Jessie James Decker announced a full-scale tour for 2022. The Woman I’ve Become was the first album out in three years for the country singer. After time off from writing and performing, Jessie went back on tour to perform her new songs. The tour started in Detroit and the singer traveled to Nashville, Atlanta, New York, San Diego and more cities around the country.
