Stateline, Nevada, is situated on the south-eastern side of Lake Tahoe, a mountainous, forested locale that straddles the California-Nevada border. Though primarily known for its cold weather resorts, the area also offers its visitors plenty of opportunity for warm weather experiences, and entertainment as well. Guests on vacation can enjoy sailing, fishing and golfing opportunities in the region. Alternatively you could opt to experience scenic helicopter, bike riding and hot air balloon tours, which are also available. The area's natural hot springs have been a popular spa destination for more than 150 years.
The Stateline is a short drive from Carson City Airport (CSN). Vacationers may want to secure one of the plentiful rental properties for a more private, personal stay. Local casinos and hotels offer guests live music, comedy shows and gambling to enjoy. Heavenly Ski Resort offers year-round activities; including a scenic gondola tour with panoramic views of the Lake Tahoe area.
The ski season, running mid-November through April, is peak travel season at Stateline. Ski equipment rentals are available and several local resorts, such as The Ridge, Northstar and Heavenly, offer daycare and childcare activities; there are some restrictions by age. Be certain to inquire about limitations and reservations ahead of time, if you are interested in enrolling the kids in a ski camp or childcare.
