With 32 miles of white-sand beaches and warm ocean waters, Gulf Shores is home to a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as ideal places for relaxation in the sun. Alabama Point East Beach, less than a half mile from Perdido Pass Bridge, has boardwalks and sand dunes. Gulf Shores is also home to the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park where you can visit the Submarine USS DRUM and over 25 other famous aircraft.
The Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) and Pensacola Regional Airport (PNS) serve the Gulf Shores area. Once here, you can easily get around by foot or bicycle. If you're looking for a more secluded vacation, stay in the Fort Morgan neighborhood for uninhibited ocean views with a more rural setting and stately historic touches. Romar Beach offers a thriving beachfront locale and unique Polynesian architecture.
Gulf Shores has incredible weather with summer temperatures in the 80s, fall temperatures in the 70s and winter temperatures in the 50s. Visit in May for the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival where you can experience hot air balloons up close. October brings the National Shrimp Festival with more than 80 hours of live music and 200 pounds of specially prepared shrimp for visitors to enjoy every day.
