The property was cute but checkin was not easy. There are suprise fees you are not told when you book that you are required to pay when you check in. The person the check my husband and i in was condescending and rude when i tried to explain we weren't informed about the extra fees. Instead of being kind and understanding about it, the staff member talked over us and didnt offer any assistance for the situation. We were then taken us by a bellman who told us we were informed by the front person where certain things were and when i said she had not, he told me she had even though he was not there for any of our interaction. We were then put in a room right in front of construction which was quite unpleasant and loud. The construction was right next to the only pool so that kinda took away from the peaceful atmosphere as well. Had any of this information (extra fees, construction, etc) been available prior to booking we definitely would have picked somewhere else to stay. However, this site has a couple restaurants that have really good food and great service! You can eat there even if you are not a guest which I highly recommend. We probably wont stay here again but would return to eat at the restaurants.

This location had everything you need. The hotel is very clean, staff is friendly. We take advantage of the onsite food and drinks. You don’t even have to leave the hotel, it has all you need. My favorite is the back porch area off the main lobby with the amazing ocean view.

Amazing property in one of the most beautiful beach wilderness areas on the planet. The resort has incredible restaurants and poolside bars with superb staff. Unbelievable views and all the amenities of resorts at the highest end. Great job to the state park and hotel managers— this is a gem.

Gulf Shores Getaway

The first night of our three night stay we were put in a suite in the meetings building which had outdated bathroom and no coziness. We requested and got put back into a standard suite which we loved, balcony included. The access to beach, umbrella and chair rentals, was awesome. The Perch was fantastic food for dinner and Food Craft great for breakfast and lunch.

This is the ideal property for enthusiasts! It will surely keep you active. I will definitely return. I overlooked the $15 dollars a day for parking. Parking is a "hike" if you fo mot choose valet. Bring your beach gear. Chair umbrella starts at $45. Even these expenses the property was worth while. If your soul needs rest, this is the place. Staff was awesome and amenities of food choices was plentiful. I will make that 5 hr drive all over again by myself.

This property was very nice overall. However, I would never stay here again. I don’t think they should charge $15 a day to park when you have to walk a very long way to get to the parking lot. If you stay here bring your walking shoes!
