Green Bay, Wisconsin, is best known as the little town with the big team. Fans from across the United States make the trip here just to see the Packers play. When the game is over, however, there's still plenty of fun to be had. Families can head to the Bay Beach Amusement Park or Wildlife Sanctuary. A short drive to neighboring Door County offers peace and tranquility, and no trip to Wisconsin is complete without dinner at a supper club, a local cuisine tradition.
Lambeau Field is arguably the most popular attraction, and in addition to watching one of the oldest NFL teams play, fans can tour the stadium and Packers Hall of Fame. Popular family attractions include the Northeastern Wisconsin Zoo and the National Railroad Museum. Most of the hotel options are conveniently located near Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), although waterfront lodging is also available.
Green Bay was incorporated in 1854. The early settlers had to be hardy because temperatures are downright chilly in the winter, but the summers are temperate with an average high of 80 in July. Annual events include the Green Bay Marathon in May and Packers Training Camp in the summer. The dining choices in Green Bay are diverse and include everything from fine dining, to pub fare to authentic German food.
