"We travelled overseas and needed a room to sleep in for a few hours, as we arrived after noon and had to check in for our next flight at 4:00 AM. We arrived at the hotel around 1:30 or 2:00 PM, and the desk staff said our room was ready early so we could check in. We said "great", checked in and provided a credit card "for incidentally only", went up to the room and dropped off our luggage and immediately went to the adjoining restaurant for early dinner before going to bed at 8:00 PM. We checked out a 4:00 AM as planned. When we returned home, we found that the hotel had charged our credit card 67 Pounds. As we had not used anything from the room, we assume they charged us for early check-in, without ever telling us they would be doing so. Had they been candid, we would have requested a luggage drop off and checked in after our early dinner. Very disappointed in both this check-in policy, and its implementation without any advice or explanation."
