While a taxi can make the trek, consider the option of the Mumbai Suburban Railway as well as the BEST buses. Flight duration is about 16 1/2 hours to Chicago Ohare International (ORD) Airport. While there is a hotel attached to the airport, if you are headed into the city, including The Loop, consider using the CTA or the Metra Rail.
