Cheap flights from Tampa (TPA) to Houston (HOU)

Tampa International (TPA) is in Hillsborough County, about six miles west from the downtown Tampa area. The airport is accessible via Interstate 275, Highway 60 and the Veterans Expressway. When you're flying from TPA to Houston George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), flight times are usually just over two hours nonstop. You can take a free shuttle from the airport to rent cars at the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, catch a public Metro bus at Terminal C's south side or get a taxi outside each terminal. Downtown Houston is reached using I-69 or the Hardy Toll Road.

Attractions and tips

Culture lovers will have lots to do in Houston, including visits to The Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Children's Museum of Houston and the Holocaust Museum. Take in a show at the Houston Symphony, Miller Outdoor Theatre or the Hobby Center for the Performing Artswatch. Minute Maid Park is home of the MLB's Houston Astros, and you can see the NFL's Houston Texans play at the NRG Stadium. Located just 20 miles southwest of Houston is Missouri City, which has the Fort Bend Brewing Company.

Houston is very hot and humid from around May to September. The winter months are milder, so pack according to the season you're visiting. Many tourists stay along the Interstate 10 main thoroughfare.
