Houston is home to the country's third-largest theater district and serves as the headquarters for a significant number of Fortune 500 companies, making it a well visited destination for business travelers. In addition to the University of Houston and Rice University, the city is also the hometown for the Astros, Rockets and Texans professional sports teams.
While the North Loop has historic architecture, Neartown has museums that feature art and printing history. The South Loop is the setting for Hermann Park, which encompasses a 1950s-era drive-in movie theater, the Houston Zoo and the Museum of Natural Science.
The district also hosts Rice University and the Reliant Stadium sports complex. West Loop is the backdrop for the high-end Galleria Mall shopping mall. You’ll find a variety of cultural festivals are held in Houston each year, including iFest and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is located to the north of the city. A network of interstate highways make it easy to reach points of interest in Houston, like Memorial Park or you could choose to travel to Galveston and College Station.
Direct flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) to Houston Intercontinental take less than three hours. To reach the consolidated car rental facility, follow the signs that lead to the complimentary shuttle buses.
