When you board the plane at the Denver International Airport (DEN), you’ll get a chance to plan your itinerary before you land in Houston. You can visit the Space Center or head straight to the Houston Zoo. Perhaps you want to first visit the Downtown Aquarium, or drive to the Houston Museum District. Whether you want to eat once you land or go straight to sightseeing, Houston welcomes you to one of the largest cities in Texas.
The sprawling Houston metro area covers more than 600 square miles, so having access to a rental car is essential. The Sam Houston Parkway loops around the outskirts of the city, while I-610 loops around inner Houston. When in the city, visit the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, and drive south to Baytown for a day on the water. You can shop for hours at The Galleria, or watch a show at the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
The flight from Denver to the George Bush International Airport (IAH) takes about two and a half hours on a nonstop airliner. If you book a car rental at the airport, you can drive directly to any of your destinations without delay, such as the Sheldon Lake State Park, or the ArtCar Museum.
