Edmonton International (YEG) is located in Nisku, Alberta. The airport is accessible from Airport Road going west from exit 522 off AB-2. Nonstop flight duration is three hours to Las Vegas McCarran International (LAS). With the airport located in the heart of the city, you can take Wayne Newton Road to Harmon Avenue; two-and-a-half miles to the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas calls itself "Sin City," and with the world-class casinos, resorts and large-scale extravaganzas, you may agree. The Strip is the main attraction in Las Vegas, with live entertainment, slot machines and theme restaurants all along the four miles of wide, pedestrian friendly sidewalks. Major resorts like the MGM Grand play host to exciting shows year-round. You can also avoid gambling entirely, and enjoy hiking and camping on Lake Mead, 35 miles to the east.
Las Vegas is a lush city in a desert climate, so be sure to pack comfortably light clothing. Air-conditioning, especially in the casinos, can be chilly so a light jacket may be advised if you don't like being too cold. You will also need comfortable shoes as the city lends itself to walking from attraction to attraction. Most travelers stay in hotels along The Strip, many of which are extensions of the casinos themselves.
